Starting in March 2026, fan-favorite Kyle Rayner will be once again Earth's titular Green Lantern. As Hal Jordan embarks on a mysterious mission that will test him to the limits, Kyle returns to Earth, and reclaims the mantle he held from 1994 to 2004. It all happens in "Green Lantern" #33, which also happens to be milestone legacy issue #600.

To commemorate this change in direction, the character will also sport a new look designed by artist David Nakayama, that reminisces his original suit from 1994, streamlining some of its most recognizable elements, and simplifying the awkward "crab mask." Regarding the new uniform, the acclaimed artist said in his Bluesky feed:
"NEW! GREEN LANTERN 600 promotes KYLE RAYNER up to leading man status(!) w/ a streamlined new uniform designed by me!🔥💚 Kyle was my GL growing up, so yeah, a big deal to me. His new look is a clean-line take on the iconic original, and he’s a bit more cut and rakish now too. FOC 3/2, ships May ‘26!💚"

Kyle Rayner Style Guide by David Nakayama
I have always seen Kyle as the JLA member that everyone in-universe loves most (even Wally West), because he carried the torch on his own -and for a long time- when all the Green Lanterns were gone. Not only Kyle had to win the other characters' hearts, but also the readers', many of which were not happy with Hal Jordan's final fate, and that is a tall order. David Nakayama has made him justice with this new design.
